しょっぱい！

Important reminder to self:

Using the oils secreted by steaming a chicken to cook a veggie omelette is all good and healthy and all. But forgetting the fact that the chicken has been rubbed with a good amount of salt, in addition to other herbs, is a bad thing~ -_-

Overly salted omelettes are not really that good an idea~ (even though i do like it salty =D)

IQ test time!

Now a simple question: You have an open shelf and you'd like to design a poster to cover up the not so interesting looking sides. Someone else helps to take the measurements, and gives you the measurements for the height and width of the shelf for you to base your poster design upon.

Now, what is wrong with this scenario?

......

......

Sometimes i wonder why people with dung for brains can still keep a business running...

Finally getting back to reading my Saiunkoku novels~ making wonderful progress at about 15 pages a night..-_-

What i'd like to know is, why do they put all the furigana on the kanji that i know how to read instead of the ones that i don't??

慧 is mystified~

In other news, i think i might be hooked on the tai tai pastime of high tea~
Goodness, i'm hardly a tai tai! I don't even have the bird-like appetites that most seem to have~

AND, why is it so difficult to find good rosebud tea here?? Where did the carts selling all the random loose herbal tisanes go to??

Managers...hur

Manager of an Internet shopping company, does not know how to change IE's default homepage (doesn't even know it's called a home page), does not know where Firefox downloads his files to (even though being on his desktop, it should have been rather hard to miss), does not know why the videos downloaded straight from his handphone no longer can be played (because your computer has been partially reset due to your non-ability to keep it virus free, so you no longer have the codec to support the file idiot.)

Sadly, i find that the longer i work here, the lower my opinions of the male species, especially those that are titled managers and directors.

Filtered out...-_-~

Ok~ for some reason, the new web content filter that my boss just placed on our network decided that this journal has *mature content* -_-... so, i can update but i cannot view my own journal...

No problem with other blogs on this site though... Hope i can solve this mystery soon, and get rid of the *offending* element in question~

*edit*
-------
After primary investigations, it seems like the element in question is my elouai doll post -_- .... seems more like *immature content* warning to me

Probably some of the scripts involved offend our new filter...Well, so long as i know the reason... So according to logic, once the post gets pushed to the back, i should be able to view the main page of my journal normal enough~

Random news update~

I'm now suffering from Firefox add-ons addiction~ =D With a grand total of 10 superb add-ons on my office com~

And i jus discovered a new one, one tt allows me to surf around and control my browser actions via mouse gestures~~~ how cool is tt? Sneaky surfing has nvr been easier~ =D No more fumbling to look for the minimize button~ =D

In other news, went to an uncle's new house last sat~ wonderful upgrade from condo to private property (economic crisis? wat crisis?) ~ the whole design (layout/deco/theme) is very nicely thought out. The uncle is a camera-man, so there's a certain level of aesthetics present~

The main pt of my talking abt it is this: i like the top floor/balcony, the house-warming was at night, so there was a very nice cool breeze, the whole feel was very relaxed, very conductive for nua-ing/reading/impromptu BBQ-ing~ now if one of us had a balcony like tt~

*I SHOULD start on that dress draft

Urgh to procrastinating...I seldom procrastinate at work, so why in the world do i like to procrastinate so much for free-lance dress-making???

Ans: Cos alot more effort is needed, and i'm lazy and unwilling to do laborious work -_- , i'd rather be lying down comfortably on my bed reading then straining my back/knee/ankle on the living room drafting the damned dress...

"One of the worst things about procrastination is all the time you spend worrying, begrudging and dreading the task. Most likely, you put a lot more effort into thinking about how much you don’t want to do it than it takes to actually put your nose to the grindstone and complete it."

*I should start drafting the dress, i should start drafting the dress, i should start drafting the damned dres.. ahem, i mean..the dress...*

To write or not to write

Decided that i might want to write again, then the next second, decided that i really cannot be bothered. Then yet again, the next moment decide i have nothing i feel like writing even if i felt like writing (does this make sense to you??).

So now, i've decided. I'll do freestyle writing whenever i may feel like writing but yet have nothing i feel like writing about.... i think =D

Hur hur~ i'm just twitchy really~

Too many things i feel like doing, too little time.
Too many things i DON'T feel like doing, too little time still.

I've got this small container of what is supposed to be rock sea salt on my desk now, and i've got this urge to take a small rock and pop it in my mouth =D

Granted i've already tried that before really, and it's a tiny little piece really, i still have that little voice in my head =D

Oh it's gonna be 6 soon~

You have the potential to break a lot of hearts.

You know how what you want, how to get it, and that you will get it.

You have the power to rule the world. Let's hope you're a benevolent dictator!

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.

Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.

Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.

And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.

You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?

Book 7

Book 7's title is finally out~~

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The first thing that flashed into my mind was All Hallow's Eve, the day the Potters died. The day everything started, or at least it was the day that started everything for Harry, but perhaps you might say that it started for him when Snape overheard the Prophecy.

Researching on All Hallow’s Eve, this site popped up http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Forum/7280/samhain.html

From there we can see some very consistent themes with what we would all expect the last book of the series would contain. Personally I feel the linkage is quite strong, particularly this part, and especially the parts in bold:

“The Celts called it (Halloween) Samhain, which means “summer’s end”, according to their ancient twofold division of the year, when summer ran from Beltane to Samhain and winter ran from Samhain to Beltane. (Some modern covens echo this structure by letting the high priest “rule” the coven beginning on Samhain, with rulership returned to the high priestess at Beltane.) According to the later fourfold division of the year, Samhain is seen as “autumn’s end” and the beginning of winter.

Not only is Samhain the end of autumn; it is also, more importantly, the end of the old year and the beginning of the new. Celtic New Year’s Eve, when the new year begins with the onset of the dark phase of the year, just as the new day begins at sundown. There are many representations of Celtic Gods with two faces, and it surely must have been one of them who held sway over Samhain. Like his Roman counterpart Janus, he would straddle the threshold, one face turned toward the past, in commemoration of those who died during the last year, and one face gazing hopefully toward the future, mystic eyes attempting to pierce the veil and divine what the coming year holds. These two themes, celebrating the dead and divining the future, are inexorably intertwined in Samhain, as they are likely to be in any New Year’s celebration.

As a feast of the dead, this was the one night when the dead could, if they wished, return to the land of the living, to celebrate with their family, tribe, or clan. And so the great burial mounds of Ireland (sidhe mounds) were opened up, with lighted torches lining the walls, so the dead could find their way. Extra places were set at the table and food set out for any who had died that year. And there are many stories that tell of Irish heroes making raids on the Underworld while the gates of faery stood open, though all must return to their appointed places by cockcrow.

As a feast of divination, this was the night par excellence for peering into the future. The reason for this has to do with the Celtic view of time. In a culture that uses a linear concept of time, like our modern one, New Year’s Eve is simply a milestone on a very long road that stretches in a straight line from birth to death. Thus, the New Year’s festival is a part of time. The ancient Celtic view of time, however, is cyclical. And in this framework, New Year’s Eve represents a point outside of time, when the natural order of the universe dissolves back into primordial chaos, preparatory to reestablishing itself in a new order. Thus, Samhain is a night that exists outside of time and, hence, it may be used to view any other point in time. At no other holiday is a tarot card reading, crystal reading, or tealeaf reading so likely to succeed.”

“The Oct. 31 Greater Sabbat, also called November Eve, the Celtic Samhain ("sow-en"); the beginning of the Celtic winter, and of the Celtic year; the beginning of the Witches' Year, when the Veil Between the Worlds grows thin and the spirits of the dead may return to Earth; the Descent of the Goddess to the Underworld; the final Harvest festival”

This is what I found about the Hallows:

“The Hallows across most legends are seen to represent the royal regalia carried by the King, or the objects sought by someone such as a 'Grail Quester' in both ancient and modern stories.” Perhaps in this case, the “someone” means Harry, in his search for the Horcruxes.

The Hallows in the modern context could be found in tarot cards. Being namely;
·	The sword
·	The cup
·	The pentacle or coin
·	The wand or stave

Which could correspond with the four founder’s relics; namely;
·	Gryffindor’s Sword
·	Hufflepuff’s Cup
·	Slytherin’s Locket (it is entirely made of gold)
·	Ravenclaw’s Wand or Staff (or so I presume)

From all that, my primary theories are as follows:
·	Someone who is dead may return to help Harry, not as a Ghost, not permanently back, just here to help. Similar to who Harry’s parents helped him face Voldemort
·	Chapter 2 of HBP is titled “Spinner’s End, could there be a chapter in HPDH called “Summer’s End”?
·	Ravenclaw’s relic is either a wand or a staff
·	The archway in the MOM would have a heavy impact on the story

There are still some unlinked theories and research I’d like to do, but it’s been a long day, so I shall leave it at that for the moment.

Sg men who when asked abt why they married china/vietnam wives, proclaims loudly tt it's bec sg women have too high expectations (must have 5Cs, etc). Talk abt the pot calling the kettle black. If u expect to find a meek, subservient chio bu with no expectations to pander to ur every needs and bear ur children, then i must say tt u'll be sorely disappointed.

Everything comes with it's own price, my dear sirs. For one thing, the chio bus tt u're so fond of looking at requires a certain amt of $ to mantain their gd looks.

I'm no feminist, i only believe tt if u have expectations of other pple, then u can also expect tt they will have expectations of u.

*Jumps to next topic*

Bec i'm working in the a/c dept, i know how much the agency is billing the company for my work.
